The Bolo Stick Sliding Patio Door Stopper does the same job in discreet solid steel. It fits standard sliding doors, installs in 5 minutes, and keeps the door from being forced open from outside.

The Sliding Door Stopper, Installed

How the Sliding Door Stopper Works
What it stops
The pin sits in the track right beside the closed door. With it in, the door can't slide open, even if the latch is pried.
What it doesn't stop
It does not stop the panel from being lifted off its track. Pair it with an anti-lift bolt or screws in the top track.
Inside rail only
It fits the inside or outside rail of most tracks, but it only protects you on the inside. On the outside rail, someone breaking in can pull it out.
Out in one step
In a fire it comes out instantly, in one step. Even a small child can pull it, so it is not a childproof lock.
Installing it
Close the door and set the pin in the track beside it, about 1/16 inch from the door frame. Drill one 5/16 inch hole through the track into the floor, clear the debris and drop the pin in. Measure the gap between the door and the frame before you drill: getting that wrong is the most common mistake.
What Sliding Door Owners Say
“I have a home with two sliding glass doors and there's nothing I hate more than having that big ugly stick blocking the door. The Bolo Stick Patio door safety pins took me literally 5 minutes to install. Clean look and solid steel.”
